Hi Susan and sorry for the late reply. Mauritius and Reunion Island are closest to South Africa. All of the countries mentioned are warm and sunny in Sep-Nov. You can't really do any shopping outside of our hotel in the Maldives. Mauritius has the best shopping. All of them have great beaches and hotels and if you can afford 5 star service there are heaps of really good places to choose from in all of them. Enjoy!

I will be travelling in Sept.-Nov. this year. Are all 3 locations warm and SUNNY during these time periods? Which is better? I am looking for a place to relax, read, good food, beaches with food and cocktails delivered, (perhaps shopping either on the resort or nearby- this is not a prerequisite).

I will be coming from South Africa. Which island(s) are the closest?

I look forward to hearing from you. I can pay for a 4-5 star resort.

Thanks!
Susan

@ Meghan how can those photos of beautiful children be perverse? It's the way you look at it, the way you were raised and the way your brain works that makes them perverse in your eyes.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been away travelling for quite a while. I understand your concern regarding the naked photos of children. My intention was just to show some of the most famous and acclaimed nude photographers that we have… leaving the judging up to each individual.
It’s easy to judge before having the full picture. Initially I was put off by Jock Sturges photos as I thought he was a paedophile, than having read up on and following his work through the years I have been getting a different picture. He is a nudist himself and a good friend of the families he photograph. His portraits are not just of children, but long-term portraits of people growing up and of family bonds, following them through different ages.
Depending on our own background and relationship to nudity, we judge images differently. What to the photographer might be conceived as something ordinary and no sexual, can by the observer be perceived as something perverted… and vice versa.
